Have you Given up on Your 2017 Resolutions?

Have you Given up on Your 2017 Resolutions?

How many of you made New Year’s Resolutions? Quite a lot of hands on show. But how many of you actually stuck to them? As a child it was probably a short list of ‘Tidy my room,’ ‘Eat more veg’ etc.

I’m sure some of you are also guilty of ‘I’ll start again next year!’ As responsible adults, not only are we expected to make practical resolutions, but we’ve also got to stick to them.

Did You Know?

The top 10 most stated New Year’s Resolutions are:

  • Lose Weight
  • Getting Organised
  • Spend Less, Save More
  • Enjoy Life to the Fullest
  • Staying Fit and Healthy
  • Learn Something Exciting
  • Quit Smoking
  • Help Others in Their Dreams
  • Fall in Love
  • Spend More Time with Family

The most popular types of resolution include:

  • Self-Improvement or education related resolutions 47%
  • Weight related resolutions 38%
  • Money related resolutions 34%
  • Relationship related resolutions 31%

When working in a business, it’s important to always stay on track as well as improving and expanding our skills. So, how can you keep your New Year’s Work Resolutions?

Are they any Different from Last Year?

If you’re constantly deciding on the same resolutions every year, chances are you haven’t accomplished them, which leads me to my next point.

Are they reasonable?

Setting challenging goals is good for productivity and the end result always turns out worthwhile. But you shouldn’t stress yourself out with goals that might be unachievable at this time. Always be realistic.

Will Your Personal Resolutions Benefit Your Work Life?

If you include goals such as exercising more, eating healthier or keeping a diary, yes, you will see a change in your work life. Exercising and eating healthy not only puts you in a better mind set to work, but also makes you feel good all round. As for starting a diary, you’ll definitely see a boost in your productivity. Bullet Journal systems have become very popular recently, helpful with organising, logging and tracking. Marketing Tip: designing a social media calendar will help when distributing content in the new year.

Are You Stuck with Your Resolution List?

Sometimes it’s harder to think of resolutions when you know you have to be serious about them. Here is a list that may help you out:

1. Learn Something New Every Day

They don’t use this expression for nothing, and when you can sign up to receive Wikipedia’s Featured Articles, there’s really no excuse! You can even watch CrashCourse on Youtube, a set of educational videos by Hank and John Green. They cover subjects from biology to history, to economics to literature. Have a look into online training courses to expand your knowledge and skills.

2. Be Kinder to Yourself (and Others)

Everyone should bear this in mind. As sung by Whitney Houston; ‘Learning to love yourself, is the greatest love of all’. Drop a colleague a good morning email, or ask them if they want a coffee! Small things make all the difference.

3. Stop Procrastinating and Be More Motivational

Attempt to hold a short team meeting in the mornings and discuss tasks for the coming week. Working together can increase productivity and build better relationships.

4. Learn a New Skill

This could come in handy with plenty of occasions and opportunities. For instance, something to add to your CV. It’s always fun to teach as well as learn, pass on your knowledge of your new skill and show a colleague, or even your manager.

5. Be More Efficient

Being employed in customer service means you’ve got to be diligent at all times. When a customer enquires about a product, ensure you’ve already got it in hand. But what about when they’re browsing your website? You can still assist them online via Live Chat

Your customers are viewing your website and notice a product they like and, perhaps they want more information? Considering the wait for a reply back from an email can be a little lengthy, a Live Chat for website system means customers receive an instant reply.

Using Live Chat software on your website means you’re able to help not only CX but also the customer journey. With the chat button being present throughout their time on the website, including checkout stage, customers are able to start a chat, instantly being connected to one of your chat representatives.

Maybe discussing the implementation of Live Chat just might be the innovation of the year for your business. For more information, feel free to contact us on 0845 123 5871 or email us at theteam@click4assistance.co.uk.

Hopefully these tips will ensure that the rest of 2017 is your year!
