Click4Assistance: New and Improved Infrastructure

Click4Assistance: New and Improved Infrastructure

“Your data security is always our top priority. It is an important factor for every client, our continued investment in the latest technology methods and world class data centres show our commitment to this valid concern.” Managing Director, Click4Assistance

Hosting the Solution

During 2017, our developers built ‘Experiences’ by Click4Assistance. When the new enhanced solution was ready to be transferred from the development server, our team had already researched into the best type of servers to run the new system. They built it from scratch and included a large number of back up hard drives to ensure continuity should the hardware experience an issue.

Our engineers arranged many consultations and meetings with Equinix where our servers are hosted, to discuss the enhanced infrastructure and security surrounding implementing the new servers whilst continuing to the run the existing ones.  A more powerful rack was provided to ensure the system uptime maintains our minimum of at least 99%.

Connectivity

Connectivity is the most important factor to consider when ensuring the communication channel is securely running 24/7.

To ensure every client receives an enterprise level of connectivity, the Click4Assistance servers have access to Europe’s major network operators, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and unrivalled access to Internet Exchange Points (IXPs). By distributing our data through 6 multiple Tier 1 carriers, we are able to successfully achieve sophisticated levels of resilience.

To guarantee there is no loss of connectivity should a unit fail, the network hardware is configured to operate in standby-active roles, therefore the other unit takes over in milliseconds.

We use Cisco as our approved supplier, ensuring top class security, operational expertise, and that firewalls and routers are managed by approved engineers.  An array of monitoring tools are used 24/7 by engineers at the network operation centre (NOC) to ensure optimal connectivity across all carriers and hardware.

Infrastructure

Using our own HP and Cisco equipment, located with the Equinix data centres, you can be assured your data remains in a world-class environment with complete resilience.

Entry to the data-centre is tightly controlled by a permanently manned security presence with strict procedures in place to monitor and control visitor access both into and within the data centre. Extensive CCTV video camera surveillance is in place across each facility, along with security breach alarms, biometric checks and controlled physical barriers.

GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be coming into effect 25th May 2018. Organisations are now becoming more aware of where their data is being stored and how data controllers are processing their personal information.

All data processed by Click4Assistance will be stored on our servers hosted in London. The data will be purged in a timely manner depending on its contents. Organisations may require their data to be purged sooner or kept for longer periods of time; therefore written agreements will need to be in place for bespoke arrangements.

Click4Assistance has a Data Protection Officer (DPO) in place, who will ensure not only are we as a company complying with GDPR, but our customers are made aware of how the regulation may have an effect on their use of chat box for website and advise accordingly.
